Creamy Kahlúa Hot Chocolate for 2

Total Time 5 minutes minutes
Servings 2
Calories 276

Ingredients

  • 1½ tablespoons Dutch-processed unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 ounce  Kahlúa coffee liqueur
  • Whipped cream and mini marshmallows
  • Chocolate syrup

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, combine milk, sugar, cocoa powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg over medium heat until heated through, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in Kahlúa.
  • Serve immediately, topped with whipped cream and mini marshmallows and drizzled with chocolate syrup.

Notes

Once you realize how easy it is to make creamy hot chocolate, you won’t be using store bought powder mixes.
Recipe is adapted from Damn Delicious. I simply added whipped cream.
You can also drizzle with salted caramel, if desired.

I LOVE boozy hot chocolate (obviously–and thanks for the shout out)! That looks amazing. Pinning for sure…

Hot chocolate is good, but boozy is better.

Simply Eating Well

Patricia and Tom
Now that our nest is empty, Tom and I are enjoying quiet, intimate dinners at home. Simple meals. Smaller portions. The best cuts of meat. Organic vegetables. I’m always trying new recipes for 2 and still learning how to scale down the family favorites we’ve enjoyed through the years. Stay tuned.
