When you add a bit of booze to homemade hot chocolate, it’s the perfect adult treat for that cozy evening at home in front of the fire.
Creamy Kahlúa Hot Chocolate for 2
Ingredients
- 1½ tablespoons Dutch-processed unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 cups milk
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- Pinch of nutmeg
- 1 ounce Kahlúa coffee liqueur
- Whipped cream and mini marshmallows
- Chocolate syrup
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine milk, sugar, cocoa powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg over medium heat until heated through, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in Kahlúa.
- Serve immediately, topped with whipped cream and mini marshmallows and drizzled with chocolate syrup.
Notes
Once you realize how easy it is to make creamy hot chocolate, you won’t be using store bought powder mixes.
Recipe is adapted from Damn Delicious. I simply added whipped cream.
You can also drizzle with salted caramel, if desired.

Hot chocolate is good, but boozy is better.
